Inclusive Couples Therapy

Relational therapy for all.

My mission is to turn conflict into connection. Whether you’re feeling like distant roommates, stuck in endless arguments, or simply looking to strengthen your bond, relational therapy can offer a safe space to grow and heal.

Together, we’ll explore the patterns that keep you stuck and work toward building a relationship where all partners feel heard, valued, and understood. No matter where you’re starting from, we’ll walk the path to healing and growth side by side.

JP Posnak, LMHC

People come to therapy for many different reasons. In the case of relationship therapy, you may feel that you and your partner are not communicating effectively, that your childhood wounds are getting in the way of your ability to stay in a healthy relationship, or that you just want to deepen your connection.

Whatever the reason, the therapist must be skillful, sensitive, and safe.  What does this mean? To come to a stranger and share your dreams, fears, and inner-most thoughts is a brave undertaking. When you show up to do this work, you deserve a therapist who knows what they’re doing, can attune to your needs, and can provide a contained space to handle big feelings.

When you bring your most vulnerable self, I will help you feel held. I will not simply say “that sounds tough.” I will be with you in your pain and walk with you to the other side. No matter the struggle, it is from this place of togetherness that we can heal, grow, and change.

Background, Training, & Specialties

I hold a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from the University of Colorado where I concentrated in couples and family therapy. I have completed advanced training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and Gottman Method Couples Therapy. I’m also well versed in trauma-informed care, which helps me support couples navigating the effects of past wounds on their current relationship. I gained much of my experience working at a community mental health agency in Boston where I conducted therapy with families, children, adolescents, adults, groups, and high-risk patients.

While I specialize in clinical work with LGBTQ+ adults, I see people of all identities, orientations, and relationship structures.
